Sprayed Polyurethane Foam Insulation has been used in
the United States since the mid 1960's to insulate homes
and Dwyer's has extensive
experience in this field.
Sprayed
polyurethane foam provides weatherproof sealants, forms
a seamless layer of insulation, and fills gaps and seams
during application and covers irregular, hard-to-insulate
shapes. In fact, closed-cell spray polyurethane foam
insulation forms an air barrier and moisture barrier
in addition to its high R-value. It can also be efficient
in a wide variety of humidities. All of this reduces
drafts considerably while creating sturdier, quieter
homes. Polyurethane insulating products are also often
structurally self-supporting and can be attached to
a wide range of substrates while requiring no additional
adhesive.

Dwyer's uses both closed-cell
and open-cell foam materials. We recommend closed-cell
foam for most applications. However, some jobs may require
or be best suited for open-cell foam. Both types may
be sprayed on open walls and open-cell may be injected
into closed cavities. Foam is ideal for cathedral ceilings
because of its high R-value and moisture resistant qualities.
Field-applied foam has several advantages over fibrous
insulation materials.
